Hotels

So some of you have asked about what we are doing about hotels for those of you traveling to the wedding. We finally were able to pick one. It is in Roseville, about 25 minutes away from the wedding site and 30-45 minutes away from the airport. It's also close to the mall and there is lots to do around the mall! The hotel is called Larkspur Landing Roseville. We went and visited and think those staying there will be happy with it. We are reserving a block for July 24th and 25th. There are a few options for rooms, so you'll have to call or go on their website to see what you want. The website is www.larkspurhotels.com. Can't wait to see everyone.

Invitations are being picked along with tuxes and flowers. We have one of our last planning meetings next weekend and can't wait. We're only 3 months away. Woo hoo!

Groomsmen and Bridesmaid Dresses!

So today two of my bridesmaids, Kelsey and Michelle, came over and we picked out the most beautiful bridesmaid dresses! They are simple, black, cocktail dresses that will look great on all of them. We should have them in a few days and I can't wait for them to try them on.

Casey finally asked all of his groomsmen to be in the wedding. They are...

Kevin: Casey's brother will be his best man. I'm super excited for the speech that will come from him.

Garret: A close friend that Casey has known forever.

Adan: A friend from college who is super sweet and such a nice guy.

The first week of February we get to go to the inn for the tasting. There we will try all of the food and cakes and make our decisions about what we are going to have. It all looks so yummy on paper, we can't wait to try everything! We'll also talk to their preferred flower people and book that person. The only thing that we have left to do is figure out what the boys will wear and the flowers.

The whole wedding planning experience has been wonderful. We haven't felt rushed or stressed at all. It has been great planning together as a couple and doing parts with my bridesmaids. We are so excited and can't wait for it all to come together for the perfect day!

Still movin'

So we haven't done to much wedding stuff lately. I've been busy settling into work at the elementary school and Casey has been busy with work and running with the cross country team. I did, however, buy my wedding dress last Sunday!! I am so excited and can't wait to wear it on our wedding day! The whole process was so fun. My mom, matron of honor and one of my bridesmaids came along so I could get their opinions. I definitely found "THE ONE"! It's crazy, though. It takes 4-6 months to get and then it has to be altered because I'm so darn short.

We're working with Casey's cousin on creating wonderful save the date cards to send out. We're hoping to send them out as soon as they're done to get a better count of who will be coming. We're also going to take our engagement photos next Sunday. We weren't sure we were going to take them, but our lovely photographer throws them in when you book them for your wedding. I'm so excited to have pictures of the two of us. We don't have to many with just us in them.

Casey hasn't informed all of the guys he wants to be his groomsmen, but I have told my side of the wedding party. Here they are:

Shawna: Matron of Honor, I've known Shawna since high school and our friendship has strengthened every year since. We love spending time with her and her wonderful family. Her son is the cutest little boy ever and we love playing with him! She is such a wonderful friend and mother and I am so excited to have her as a part of our wedding.

Kelsey: Bridesmaid, I have also known Kelsey since high school. I met her as a stat girl at wrestling practice. We had such fun going to wrestling practice and matches. They thought we were there to work, but we were really there to socialize and get out of school. She has lived in Oregon for the last few years, but is back in Roseville. I am so fortunate to have her as a friend.

Michelle: Bridesmaid, I have known Michelle since high school. We met while in band. The only two who didn't fit the band nerd mold in our opinions, we were fast friends. We did quite a bit of traveling together in high school and after. From Canada to Florida, we have had some fun times. She is also getting married next year in July and I can't wait to see her walk down the isle. I'm going to need a box of kleenex!

Two more things checked off the list!

So we've done a bit more in the past week or so. In addition to beginning to set up my classroom, we have met and booked a DJ and officiant. The DJ is going to to be amazing and the officiant is one of the coolest guys ever. He has a dry sense of humor, just like Casey! He's been a judge in Sacramento for a while, so he and Casey had lots to talk about. Tomorrow we start the process of looking at houses. It's quite an exciting time! Hopefully it won't be to stressful! Casey and I are so supportive of each other, though, that I think all of this will bring us closer together than ever. That's all for now!

Wedding Update July 20th, 2009

We found the most beautiful location for our wedding. We talked to many people and several talked about the Monte Verde Inn in Forest Hill. We went Sunday to check it out and we fell in love. We went back today, Monday, and booked July 25th, 2010. Mark your calendars!! We are so excited to have a date. Now the real planning begins. Dresses, favors, bridesmaids and groomsmen. It's fantastic to be marrying my best friend. I could not imagine planning this with anyone else. This wedding will be a collaboration of what we both want. I can't wait to plan the rest of our lives together!!
